1. Common tracking questions

The open count did not increase

The recipient's email provider may have blocked the tracking image, delayed loading it, or reused a cached copy. An unopened status does not prove the email was not read.

The open count increased more than once

Email providers, preview panes, security scanners, and repeated views can load the tracking image multiple times. Mail Audit shows detected image-load events, not guaranteed unique human views.

Dashboard data is missing

Sign in to the dashboard with the same Google email address used as the sender in Gmail, then refresh the dashboard.

The extension stopped working

Open chrome://extensions, confirm Mail Audit is enabled, reload the extension, then refresh Gmail. Also confirm that the extension has the permissions required for its disclosed features.

2. Sign-in and Google authorization

Mail Audit uses Google sign-in for account authentication. Google may also show a Gmail authorization screen when a Gmail API feature is used.

Support will never ask for your Google password, one-time verification code, full access token, or recovery codes. Do not send these values by email or screenshot.

3. Report a bug

Please include:

  • A short description of what you expected and what happened.
  • Chrome version and Mail Audit extension version.
  • Whether the problem happens in a new email, reply, or Sent folder.
  • Steps that reliably reproduce the issue.
  • A privacy-safe screenshot or console message when useful.

4. Security and privacy reports

For a suspected security vulnerability or unintended data exposure, email support with the subject Mail Audit Security Report. Do not publicly share sensitive exploit details before the issue can be reviewed.

Privacy questions are answered under the Privacy Policy and Data Practices page.

5. Account and data deletion

Uninstalling the extension stops it from running in Chrome, but it does not automatically erase existing server-side account and tracking records. Use the dedicated deletion process for that request.
