Request deletion of your Mail Audit account and data.
This process is available to Mail Audit users who want their verified account and associated server-side tracking records removed.
Send a verified deletion request
Send the request from the same Google email address used for Mail Audit whenever possible. This helps verify ownership and prevents unauthorized deletion requests.
1. How to submit the request
- Email support.mailaudit@gmail.com from the Google account connected to Mail Audit when possible.
- Use the subject: Mail Audit Account and Data Deletion Request.
- Include the account email address and state whether you want full account deletion or only specific records reviewed.
- Do not include your password, access token, recovery code, or confidential email content.
- Respond to a reasonable ownership-verification request if required.
2. Data included in a full deletion
A verified full-account deletion request is intended to remove:
- The Mail Audit user profile associated with the verified Google account.
- Authentication sessions and linked account records controlled by Mail Audit.
- Tracked-email metadata associated with that account, including recipient, subject, status, open counts, and timestamps.
- Related open-event records, including stored event time, IP address, user agent, and self-open status.
Email bodies are not part of stored tracking history
3. Processing time
Verified requests will be processed within a reasonable period and are normally targeted for completion within 30 days. Complex verification, security investigations, legal obligations, or backup lifecycle limits may require additional time.
A confirmation will be sent when the request has been completed or if more information is required.
4. Important effects of deletion
- Deleted tracking history cannot be restored through the Mail Audit dashboard.
- The extension may stop showing historical status for deleted records.
- Uninstalling the extension by itself does not delete existing server-side data.
- If you sign in again later, a new account record may be created.
5. Limited retention exceptions
A minimal record may be retained when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, security investigations, dispute resolution, or enforcement of rights. Any retained information will be limited to the applicable purpose and retention requirement.
Service-provider backups may retain encrypted copies temporarily until their normal backup lifecycle expires.
